Hawghunters Bass Club was formed in 1983 by six individuals who had broken away from other local clubs. Their own goals for the sport of bass fishing could now be attained with the formation of HHBM.ORG. The goals established by this group of esteemed young individuals was to promote the sport of bass fishing, fish new and challenging waters, and to learn new techniques not familiar to them.
Within two years, HHBM.ORG had grown to 18 members and were fishing waters in other states. With the membership of an individual from the Maryland Bass Federation, the clubs' goal of new waters and techniques was attained by addition of fishing tidal waters. A policy of the club was that every year, at least one new body of water was added to the schedule. In order to offer the technique option, no two members where allowed to fish with each other in any consecutive tournaments or more than twice in any given year. This gave both, the rider and the owner, the oportunity to learn from his partner. In order to allow our membership to fish the waters they want at the time of year they want, the schedule is submitted by the membership. The tournament comittee then plans the schedule and submits it back to the membership for approval. This is normally completed by the January meeting in order to allow the membership to schedule vacations.
In 2006, along with many clubs of the Federation, Hawghunters had disolved it's association with B.A.S.S. and joined ranks with The Bass Federation and FLW.
Through the years, HHBM.ORG has grown in membership. Many new members came and some have left, yet our average membership has continously grown. Today, HHBM.ORG, has a healthy mix of owners and riders in all age groups.
HHBM.ORG sustains itself through an annual membership fee and sponsoring buddy tournaments at Beltzville Reservoir and Nockamixon State Park.
HHBM.ORG meets at Stahley' Cellarette at 1826 Hanover Ave., Allentown, PA on the first Sunday of every month and is open to any person wishing to attend.
